Kane missed out as he continued his individualised programme at England's training base. There are concerns that the 31-year-old isn't fully fit after he was forced off in Bayern Munich's most recent Bundesliga fixture, before missing England training on Tuesday. Grealish, meanwhile, has a minor knock and sat out of training as a precaution.
DID YOU KNOW?
Carsley has already been dealt a blow with Kobbie Mainoo, Ezra Konsa and Morgan Gibbs-White all withdrawing from the squad through injury. Gibbs-White's inclusion had already upset some England fans who felt that Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers deserved a chance in the senior team.
AFPWHAT NEXT FOR ENGLAND?
Carsley's audition for the England job will continue with games against Greece and Finland on Wednesday and Sunday respectively. The Three Lions won both of last month's UEFA Nations League ties and will hope to continue their perfect start to the 2024-25 campaign this week.
