Mullin joined Wrexham in the summer of 2021 from Cambridge United as he joined forces with the National League side following their takeover by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The Liverpool-born striker quickly became a star with the Red Dragons as he scored 74 goals in his first two seasons and led Phil Parkinson's side to their first promotion under the Hollywood stars as they made their way into League Two. Mullin then scored 24 goals in the fourth tier last season and led Wrexham to back-to-back promotions.

Mullin's significant numbers have fallen off since the move up to League One this season, as the 30-year-old has struggled with injuries and form since the start of the campaign. Nonetheless, Wrexham have created a team worthy of competing for promotion to the Championship this season and that is exactly what they are on course to do. Parkinson's men are currently third in the League One standings and are hoping to make it to the Championship next season, as another step is taken towards hitting their eventual dream of reaching the Premier League. Mullin has now echoed Wrexham's dream as he looks to emulate Vardy and Rickie Lambert's record of scoring in all four English leagues.

GettyWHAT MULLIN SAID

Speaking to The Mirror, Mullin said: "I like to think I could perform at those levels if I get there.

"If somebody had told Jamie Vardy, when he was playing in the National League, that he would go on to play for England, I doubt if he would have believed them. We’ll be putting everything into trying to win promotion again this season and if it’s not meant to be, it won’t be through a lack of effort."

WHAT NEXT FOR MULLIN?

The 30-year-old has only made five starts under Parkinson this season and has appeared as a substitute in Wrexham's last six games. As such, he will likely see minutes from the bench yet again when the Red Dragons take on Bristol Rovers on Saturday, December 21.
