Okonkwo quickly became a fan favourite in North Wales, while starring on the award-winning ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series, and completed a permanent move to SToK Racecourse as a free agent on the back of helping to secure promotion out of League Two.
WHAT ARTHUR OKONKWO SAID
While Okonkwo is happy and settled in his current surroundings, he admits to being initially unaware of where exactly he was heading. The 23-year-old told : “When my agents did tell me about the opportunity, I did have to search ‘where is Wrexham’, that’s me being honest! I knew they were in the EFL. I knew a bit about the club, but I didn’t know how well they were doing.”

Okonkwo has helped Wrexham to make history, becoming the first EFL side to secure three successive promotions, and is convinced that he made the right choice in accepting an offer to join an ambitious project being pieced together by Phil Parkinson and Co: “When I spoke to the gaffer last summer before I joined, straight away I knew that this was the right move. The manager had a plan, he said he wanted to go and do it again, and I signed. I have belief in the manager and the decisions he’s made and the players he brought in.”
