Werner, who is struggling for form, made a mess while attempting to control the ball, only to misplace it and send it out of play. Immediately after the error, the camera was panned on Lord Sugar and the former Spurs chairman was seen shaking his head in disappointment with a wry smile on his face.

Spurs fans had a field day on social media after the notable blunder from Werner.

Despite the light-hearted criticism aimed at Werner, the game itself proved to be a memorable one for Tottenham fans. West Ham initially took the lead just 18 minutes into the game, with Mohammed Kudus striking to give the Hammers an early advantage. Just moments after the visitors' goal, Dejan Kulusevski levelled the match, putting Spurs back in contention. The second half belonged to Tottenham as Ange Postecoglou’s side found their rhythm and took control of the game. Yves Bissouma netted a crucial goal in the 52nd minute to give Spurs the lead before Alphonse Areola's own goal and Son Heung-min's strike sealed a comfortable victory for the hosts.
