Burnley took on Wolves in a crunch clash for their Premier League survival on Tuesday, but some spectators were forced to end their viewing from the ground early. One section of Turf Moor, specifically the Jimmy McIlroy stand, had its fans evacuated by stewards and police amid an ongoing safety issue. notes that some supporters were then taken to the club's Fan Zone to watch the rest of the match, while @TurfCastPodcast on reports that others were moved to the lower tier.

The reason for said evacuation was due to a dangerously hanging piece of metal in the roof of the Jimmy McIllroy stand. Cladding in the area had come loose during the opening stages, leading to concerns over the safety of fans. As a result, they were moved away from the danger area, with the metal still dangling as the match continued.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
