Real Madrid drop points in La Liga openerMbappe fails to score against Real MallorcaFans take aim at superstar after drawWHAT HAPPENED?
Real Madrid's big summer signing made his first appearance for the club in La Liga on Sunday night but could not find the back of the net on his league debut. Indeed it was a difficult night for Los Blancos who had to settle for a draw at Real Mallorca. Rodrygo gave the visitors the lead with a wonderful curling shot, but Vedat Muriqi equalised early in the second half to secure a point. To make matters worse for Madrid, Ferland Mendy was sent off in stoppage time and will now serve a ban.

Mbappe came in for criticism during the game. Fan @UTD_Mace compared the new signing to a recent Madrid flop, posting on X: "[Eden] Hazard 2.0 You first saw it here."
Football fan @TheHattrickuk described the Real Madrid star's performance as: "MBAPPE BIBLICAL STINKER."
And @ibrahimbht had an even stronger opinion: "Mbappe, best bench, doesn’t matter. Disgraceful shambolic performance, changes far too late, honestly what a waste of 2 hours."
Madrid supporter @mxdric was also unhappy with Madrid's set up, posting: "It’s almost as if playing three left wingers is a bad idea, who would have guessed? (Everyone that has even the slightest understanding of football)"
And @UNIVERSO_1899 added: "Mbappé seeing that he has gone to a League that is not for farmers."

Real Madrid fans have been eagerly anticipating Mbappe's arrival at the club after seeing the striker score goals for fun in Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappe netted on his debut as Real Madrid won the Super Cup in midweek against Atalanta but was left frustrated at Son Moix and in truth had few sights on goal against a team that finished 15th in La Liga last season. Mbappe also created zero chances, was dispossessed twice and lost half of his ground duels on a tough night at Mallorca.
