Ter Stegen had a night to forget in Monaco earlier this week as his faulty goalkeeping led to Barcelona losing 1-2 against the Ligue 1 giants in their Champions League opener. The German custodian received a lot of criticism after the match for letting his team down, but manager Flick came to his defence.

The 59-year-old heaped praise on Ter Stegen for his ability to play with the ball at his feet. He also mentioned that the goalkeeper will have clear instructions from him the next time the club take the field.
