Barcelona are reportedly targeting a new left-back next summer and are even trying to hijack Real Madrid's long pursuit of Alphonso Davies.

According to Sport, Barca want to buy a left-back who can compete with first-choice option Alejandro Balde for next season. In addition to Bayern Munich's Davies, the Catalan outfit are also looking at Wolves loanee Hugo Bueno and Benfica's Alvaro Carreras.

The report adds that the Blaugrana have been in contact with the agent of Bayern ace Davies but the expectation is that the Canada international will sign for Madrid on a free transfer from the German giants in 2025. The 24-year-old is out of contract next summer and has shown no sign of extending his stay with the Bundesliga team.
