With the game deadlocked and both sides pushing for a goal, Portland Timbers star Antony Alves produced a moment of magic to beat his man. Receiving the ball with his back to goal just outside the penalty area, he executed a brilliant flick that lifted the ball perfectly into the path of onrushing David Da Costa. The former Lens star timed his run perfectly, met the ball with a powerful first-time volley that rocketed past the Galaxy goalkeeper.
